We have a NT304C that stopped the other day. Yes, this is the same one that had the cylinder head gasket issue. We replaced the fuel filter, cleaned the sediment bowl and reprimed the fuel system. Everything went well until it stopped again after driving it about 15 miles. Had to reprime the fuel system. Any ideas?

There's usually a filter screen inside the tank, right above the sediment bowl. Did you clean that too?

NO!! Thought maybe we were getting air in the system somewhere. We will drain the tank and take a look. ....

When you remove the sediment bowl assembly from the tank, the screen will (should) come out with it. Also - remove the flexible fuel line between the sediment bowl and fuel pump. The banjo fitting on the pump end usually has a screen in it too. Check that for blockage.
There aren't ordinarily screens in the other two flex lines, but the Chinese rubber has been known to collapse internally. Looks normal on the outside, all blocked up on the inside. Check them too.

Thanks for the replies. The sediment bowl did have fuel in it when the tractor stopped. We will take the lines off to make sure they are not blocked and flow well. Already had to replace the return lines on the injectors. Do I need to order the line from the sediment bowl to have on hand in case we need to replace it? I won't see this tractor again until 6/8/10. ....

We got the fuel filter replaced. It has died once again on us. Had to reprime the system. Maybe we don't have all the air out of the system yet. ....

Is that all you did - change the filter? It won't do any good if any of those other screens I mentioned weren't checked.
